Art Club gets ready for 2010

The Art Club held their first meeting of 2010 on Thursday, January 28th and discussed the coming semester in terms of arts at SMCC.
A few students and faculty joined group advisor Jeff Badger in setting dates for coming events, as well as brainstormed on ideas to bring art awareness to the school.
Faculty member Chuck Ott commented that he really wants to see the department flourish.
The following dates have been set for SMCC Art Club events:

End-of-year student art exhibition

The attendees also chatted about current art shows, space on campus, and faculty art. A possible faculty show is under discussion.
As for the student art exhibit, the Art Club has high hopes for its potential. The show will be submission-based. Every student is allowed to submit two pieces with a guarantee of having at least one displayed.
Badger reminded individuals at the meeting that the Art Club is the students' group, and possibilities are open.
The SMCC Art Club meets every Thursday at 12:15pm in the Art Studio.
