Parking still a problem at SMCC by Jason Kenosky Despite SMCCs thirteen campus parking lots, students are having trouble finding parking. "Parking is definitely a problem," said Mike Wallace, a first year student at SMCC. "It's an issue that needs to be addressed.
Due to the state of the current economy, the Maine Community College System will see a reduction of $1.7 million for the fiscal year 2010 and the fiscal year of 2011. This budget shortfall has not affected SMCC this semester, but beginning next fall SMCC will feel the sting.
